2x +5 = 4x=8

It is :

2X + 5 = 4X +8

2X - 4X = 8 -5 / move over variable to one side , and constants to other, change the sign after moving.

-2X = 3

X = -3/2

2x +5 = 4x=8

Hi Travina;

If I understand correctly, this is NOT...

2x+5=4x=8

But rather...

2x+4=4x=8

Mentally, I can quickly calculate that...

4x=8

x=2

Mentally, I cannot quickly calculate that...

2x+4=8

2x=4

x=2

Mentally, I cannot quickly calculate that...

2x+4=4x

4=2x

2=x
