wavelength

One of the emission lines for a one electron ion has a wavelength of 30.28nm for ni=4 and nf=2. The 253.4nm line has an initial state of 5. What is the quantum number of the final state for this line?

Make sure your units are correct and you use the energy, E corresponding to first emission to solve for X and the energy, E from the second emission to solve for the unknown quantum energy level nf.

Note that what Kendra called X = RZ2 is the same as what I called K in my solution.  I worked it in terns of reciprocal wavelength (1/λ) rather than energy, but the methods are equivalent.
