I need to find the value of x and y, assuming they are both real numbers. How do I go about solving this? Thanks!

8 + (x + 2y)i = x + 2i
x = 8 the real parts are equal
(8 + 2y)i = 2i the imaginary parts are equal
8 + 2y = 2
2y = -6
y = -3
