if 35 of the 140 cars delivered to a dealer were blue what percent of the cars were blue

how do I solve it and find the answer and whats the best way to get the answer

Hi Deron!

 

1.  35 out of the 140 cars are blue.  This can be written as the fraction 35/140.

2.  Convert the fraction to a decimal by dividing the top number by the bottom number.  35÷140 = 0.25

3.  Covert the decimal to a percentage by moving the decimal point two places to the right.

 

So the answer would be 25% of the cars are blue.
