when visiting an insame asylum, I asked tow inmates to give me their ages. then I tested them. I asked them to add the two ages together. one said 44 and the other said 1280. I saw the first had subtracted and the second had multiplyed. what were their ages

If you believe the inmates, then you must select the pair of factors of 1280 (when it's factored as just the product of two integers) that add to 44.
