Can't get past a 500 on the MCAT? I can help in 2 hours flat.
Hey Megan,
GREAT QUESTION!
Draw your four quadrants for me. So you have your graph, upper right corner is quadrant 1, upper left corner is quadrant 2, lower left corner is quadrant 3 and lower right corner is quadrant 4 right? Good. So, if angles are coterminal with each other, that means when you trace out the line that results from going around the center of your graph for whichever angle you're given, the coterminal angles result in the same line.
For example, if you went 30 degrees around the center of your graph, your line would start from the center and go into quadrant 1. If you went -330 degrees around the center of the same graph and traced a line, it would be the same line as 30 degrees. Same with 390 degrees. All these angles are coterminal!
To answer your question, tracing -300 degrees around the center of your graph, your line would be in quadrant 1. If you traced 60 degrees around the center of your graph, your line would be the same as the one for -300 degrees. Therefore, 60 and -300 degrees are coterminal angles.
b = 60 degrees
