Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

ACT Math

I've tutored math at the high school and college level for over 10 years, including algebra, geometry, trigonometry, pre calculus, and statistics.
Many of these items are used on the ACT Math test and I've worked w many different methods of solving these type of test questions, from backward elimination to substituting in choices.

Algebra 1

I have a MA in economics with minors in Math and Physics and have tutored all levels of Math from elementary through post graduate for over 10 years.

Algebra 2

I've tutored math at the high school and college level for over 10 years, including algebra, geometry, trigonometry, pre calculus, and statistics.

Econometrics

I have a masters in economics with a specialty in econometrics and industrial organization and microeconomics. I have worked in forecasting using econometric techniques including Ordinary Least Squares, Multi- Collinearity and heteroskedasticiity along with the different SAS programs involved in data analysis. I have worked closely w college professors as a teaching assistant for econometric courses as well.

I have both a BA and MA in Economics from Rutgers University with minors in both math and physics. I've been tutoring academic subjects for more than 10 years for all levels, from elementary through graduate students.

Elementary Math

I've tutored dozens of students over the last 15 years at all different levels of math from elementary through graduate students. I have a MA in economics from Rutgers and minors in both math and physics.

Geometry

I've tutored math at the high school and college level for over 10 years, including algebra, geometry, trigonometry, pre calculus, and statistics.

Prealgebra

Prealgebra is is foundation to a students' mathematical journey. It is usually at this stage where students either blossom or wither. I have helped 100s of struggling students overcome their fear of math and I've also advanced students to the phases where they are successful in advanced mathematics. I have coached hundreds of students through this phase, including my own children. (I currently have twins with learning disabilities each having earning an A in this enriched course). It is the best place to start tutoring in prealgebra, because if you don't grasp these concepts, the higher levels of math can be difficult.

Precalculus

I've tutored math at the high school and college level for over 10 years, including algebra, geometry, trigonometry, pre calculus, and statistics.

Probability

I've taught probability and statistics courses at the college level and have used probability in my business career as well. I've tutored math at the high school and college level for over 10 years, including algebra, geometry, trigonometry, precalculus, and probability and statistics.

PSAT

I've tutored math at the high school and college level for over 10 years, including algebra, geometry, trigonometry, precalculus, and statistics. Many of these items are used on the SAT test and I've worked with many different methods of solving these type of test questions, from backward elimination to substituting in choices. I'm currently working with a student who is working toward being a National Merit Scholarship winner.

Special Needs

I am a mom of Special education 7th grade twins as well as having spent time tutoring several Sp Ed students. I am an executive officer of the Special Education parent group and have worked w many children of varying needs. I have successfully tutored those w ADHD, dyslexia, as well as anxiety disorders. I find that despite some areas of difficulty, these students tend to be the most hard working children and w a little bit of encouragement and guidance, can reach enormous potential.

Statistics

I have tutored statistics at all levels including Harvard Graduate students. I have taught statistics as an adjunct at Rutgers NCAS. I have worked in the field and used statistics in my field of econometric forecasting.

Trigonometry
