Karin made herself available within hours of notifying her about tutoring. The lesson went really great with a 2 thumbs up from my son (who really did not want to work with a tutor). He left understanding the topic with strong confidence. We are looking forward to future lessons and to see progress in my son's learning. Great tutor!
Karin is prompt, reliable and able to pick up quickly on the PSAT troubling questions my son got wrong. What I really liked about her was when she explained something, she would ask if my son understood it and he always said "yes". She then created her own problem on the fly and asked him to solve it to see if he truly understood (which he didn't). I know he'll do well on his math class this year.
After his first session, our college age son told me to rate Karin with 5 STARS and he scheduled his next session for double the time. We're very pleased with his sudden enthusiasm.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Prealgebra is is foundation to a students' mathematical journey. It is usually at this stage where students either blossom or wither. I have helped 100s of struggling students overcome their fear of math and I've also advanced students to the phases where they are successful in advanced mathematics. I have coached hundreds of students through this phase, including my own children. (I currently have twins with learning disabilities each having earning an A in this enriched course). It is the best place to start tutoring in prealgebra, because if you don't grasp these concepts, the higher levels of math can be difficult.
