Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

ACT Math

I've tutored math at the high school and college level for over 10 years, including algebra, geometry, trigonometry, pre calculus, and statistics.
Many of these items are used on the ACT Math test and I've worked w many different methods of solving these type of test questions, from backward elimination to substituting in choices.

ACT Science

The ACT science tests more about how to use information you are given to answer questions. You need to be able to read passages and understand data to answer many of the questions. The to this exam isn't to relearn Chemistry and Physics, but to understand how to solve problems. The key to doing well is learning how to interpret the information you are given. If you are struggling, contact me for help.

Physics

If your child is having a difficult time with physics, I can help them not only with the concepts in science, but also using the math to solve equations. Having a physics minor and many students who I tutor has given me plenty of experience.

Prealgebra

Prealgebra is is foundation to a students' mathematical journey. It is usually at this stage where students either blossom or wither. I have helped 100s of struggling students overcome their fear of math and I've also advanced students to the phases where they are successful in advanced mathematics. I have coached hundreds of students through this phase, including my own children. (I currently have twins with learning disabilities each having earning an A in this enriched course). It is the best place to start tutoring in prealgebra, because if you don't grasp these concepts, the higher levels of math can be difficult.
