Help with word problem

Question

Eric uses molten pewter to make dragon-shaped keychain ornaments.  Each dragon weighs 2 ounces. How many dragons can Eric make if he uses 1.5 pounds of molten pewter? (16 ounces=1 pound)

Answer 1

One and one half lb = 1.5 (16 oz) = 24 oz.

 

That would make 12 keychain ornaments if each takes exactly 2 oz. (2 times 12 uses up all 24 oz of molten pewter.
