D'Neese makes and sells jewelry. Her earrings cost $10, the bracelets cost $15 and the necklaces cost $25. At a craft show last weekend, D'Neese sold $1050 worth of jewelry. She sold 10 more pairs of earrings than bracelets. The number of necklaces she sold was two less than the number of bracelets. How many necklaces did she sell?

Total jewelry sold = $1050

 

B = bracelets sold;  B + 10 = earrings sold ;   B -2 = necklaces sold

 

Sum of values of different items sold is total value

 

$15 B + $10 (B + 10 ) + $25 ( B - 2 ) = $1050

 

             15B + 10B + 100 + 25B - 50 = $1050

 

                                         50B + 50 = $1050

 

                                                 50B = $1000

 

                                                    B = 20   

 

      number of necklaces sold = B -2 = 18
