You don't really need to convert dollars to cents. If we divide the amount in its correct money form by the number of days, we will get our amount spent per day.
$18.00 / 36 days = $0.50 / day
$0.50 is the same as 50 cents. In money form, the number before the decimal represents dollar amount. The number after the decimal represents cents.
So she spent $0.50 per day.
