Hey Cindy,
First one thing square root of x is not defined for -1<x≤0
because negative square roots are not define in real numbers
so your function square root of x is defined only for the other part of the interval 0≤x≤1 (In this particular case)Now to graph that, one way if you never really graphed f(x)=√x is to pick some points

1/4 1/2
1/3 √3/3
1/2 √2/2
1 1
plot those points and connect the dots should give you an idea of what a graph of square root looks like
