A standard enthalpy of formation gives the energy for the formation of elements in their standard states. You would need to refer to your textbook which should have a table of standard enthalpies of formation. To calculate the energy difference or enthalpy you use the following equation.
delta H = sum(n_pdeltaH_f_p) - sum(n_rdeltaH_f_r)
where n_p and n_r refer to the number of moles of products and reactants and deltaH_f is the enthalpy of formation.
