1. conditional probability refers to an event which occurs as the result of some other event. The antecedent event is the condition which precedes the subsequent event. (in dealing cards, each card that is dealt will affect the probability of getting other cards)
2. permutation refers to events which occur in a specific order (a personal identification number, as an example)
3. combination refers to events where order is unimportant (the game of Keno, as an example)
