Bicycle Speedo & Wheel Size

I brought a bicycle odometer (speedo) for my 20" wheel bicycle, however it turns out it is made for 26-27" bike wheels. How would I change the speedo display picture so that it will be the right speed? Or at least what % difference will there be?

Thank-You Joseph,

So when I was reaching 50mph on my speedo I was actually going just 15 (As 15 is 30% of 50? Or is it 50 - 15 = 35mph?

Thank you for responding.

The Spedo depends on each revolution to determine the velocity. A 20" wheel will make more turns per mile than a larger wheel, so the velocity will be exaggerated.

After adjusting the Speedo to a wheel diameter of 26", the displayed velocity will be 30% less than before the adjustment.
If, as an example, the prior speed was 50mph, the speed after the adjustment will be 30% less, or 35mph.
