Suppose that there is a radio antenna 150 feet take tall on top of the Sears tower. How long would it take for an object released from its top take to reach the ground?
To make the problem clearer, I replace one word (see above) and deleted its use later.
You need to add height of Sears tower to 150 ft to get the total distance of the fall (assuming that nothing impedes the freefall). Assume D is the total of freefall.
Use s(t) = -16t2 + D = 0.
Once you calculate D, the solution will be easy (ignoring friction of air during fall).
