Looking at them individually:
For fund A, the profit is 0.02*6000
For fund B, the profit is 0.06*x
Observing both
For all the money that he invested (6000+x), the profit would be 5%, therefore the total profit is 0.05(6000+x)
The sum of the Profit A and Profit B should be equal to the total profit.
0.02*6000 + 0.06x = 0.05(6000+x)
120 + 0.06x = 300 + 0.05x
0.01x = 180
x = 18000
