I am having problems understanding when to use ratio or interval. Please help me understand whether it is ratio or interval and why.

1. What does re-filling the gas tank on your motorbike depend on?

2. What does gaining weight depend on?

3. What does buying a new bottle of water depend on?

What does the due date of a library book depend on?

5. What does warming up your leftovers in a microwave depend on?

 Ratio is used in calculating the probability dealing with Discredit variables:

 

   Like in an urn you have 3 red balls and 5 green ones, when draw 1 ball on random what is the probability ]

 

    of having a green ball:

       3 / 8   is the probability, under the assumption  that all equal states of equally probable:

 

        the probability is the ratio of number of Green balls / total number of balls.

  

         But if you wanted to know the probability of people with the annual average annual income of

     

        $30,000- $50, 000 read from Presumptive normal distribution of annual income.

      

        Then the probability is read from the normal table X between interval of  (30,000 - 50,000).

 

           Subtract the normalized value of 50,000 from 30,000.
