Remember that volume (in cm3) = length in cm x width in cm x thickness in cm
so rearrange and solve for thickness: thickness = volume / (length x width)
Except --- we don't know the volume, but we can figure it out very easily.
Go to a reference book (for example, your chemistry textbook, or a periodic table) and look up the density of aluminum.
Now you know the mass of Al in 1 cm3 of Al. Knowing you have 9.745 g of Al, use the density to determine the volume of the foil you have. Use that information to solve the equation above.
