The playground is filled with bicycles and wagons.If there are 24 vehicles and 80 wheels together,how many bicycles are in the playground? How many wagons are in the playground?

Answer 1

Let B = # of bicycles (2 wheelers) & let W = # of wagons (4 wheelers).

 

B + W = 24

2B + 4W = 80

Hint: using the first equation, solve for B (in terms of W)

then plug in that expression for B in the second equation...check your answers & remember both must be non-negative integers.
