we can solve it 2 ways but we can't get the same answers of the question as shown below

6*1/6 - 1*17/24=6-1*1/16 - 17/24 , = 5 *1/6 - 17/24 , = 3-34/48 , = 31/48 ANSWER

 

 

NOW THE ALTERTERNATIVE METHOD

 

6*1/16 - 1*17/24 , = 97/16 - 41/24 , = 291-82/48 , = 4*17/48 ANSWER

 

 

 

 

WE CAN SOLVE IT BOTH ABOVE WAYS , IF not then why...? please tell me within a few time

so the problem is (6)(1/6)-(1)(17/24)    ?????

If so, 6*1/6=6/6=1 and 1*17/24=17/24

so we now have 1-17/24

24-17/24= 7/24..  Final Answer is 7/24
