Everything done by Peter was perfect except for the addition at the end. The sum here is 10,990. It seems to me that the 14 feet belonging to the 7 ladies were not included.

Each bag has 0 feet.

Each cat has 4 feet.

Each kitten has 4 feet.

 

There are 7 bags for every lady. There are seven ladies, so 7*7 = 49 bags. There are 7 Cats for every bag, so 49 * 7 = 343. There are 343 cats. Each cat has 7 kittens, so 343 * 7 = 2,401. There are 2,401 kittens.

 

Now we need to find out how many feet all of the ladies, bags, cats, and kittens have for the total.

2 feet for each lady, so 2 * 7 = 14 feet.

0 feet for each bag, so 0 * 49 = 0 feet.

4 feet for each cat, so 4 * 343 = 1,372 feet.

4 feet for each kitten, so 4 * 2,401 = 9,604 feet.

 

Now that we know how many feet are in each group, we find the total by adding them together.
