Eight students took a practice math test.  Six got 90% of the problems correct.  If 100 students later took the same test, how many are likely to get 90% correct.

 

6 = w

8    100  Now cross multiply to get 8w=600

 

Now you want one w, not eight. So, divide both sides by 8 to get w

w=75

 

6/8 = 75/100
