Given f(x)=3x-5, find f(x-2)

Unless there is something you've left out, this is pretty straight forward. Simply substitute x-2 for x in the f(x) equation:

 

f(x-2) = 3(x-2) - 5

         = 3x - 6 - 5

         = 3x - 11
