If the Voltage V in an electric circuit is held constant, the current I is inversely proportional to the current R. If the current id 60 amperes when the resistance is 285 ohms, find the current when yhe resistance is 150 ohms. I am given the formula and hint given is.  And it isn't 112 amperes. 

 

I=k/R

70=k/270

E = IR relates voltage (E volts), current (I amperes) and resistance (R ohms).  [Your first sentence erroneously says 'current R'.]

 

 

E = 60•258 is given, and this will be held constant.  Then this same E = I•150.

Setting these two E values equal, we have 60•258 = I•150.
