If each person is to pay one-half of $725, then each person's share is $362.50. If roommate #1 has paid $100 to roommate #2, then he/she must still pay the remaining amount of 262.50. If this is divided by 4 you get $65.625.

 

Roomate #1 should pay roommate #2 the amount of $65.63 each week for 4 weeks.

If they split the rent, then each roommate owes half of $750, or 362.50.

 

Roommate #1 has paid $100, so she still must pay an additional $262.50 to Roommate#2 to make up for her deficit.

 

Splitting the $262.50 into four equal pieces gives $65.625.  

 

Since she is Roommate #1 is paying Roommate #2 every two weeks, #1's payment every 2 weeks is 2 of the $65.625's.

 

So #1 pays her roommate  $131.25
