Plot is the sequence of events that make up the story. It usually rises out of character.
Context is the setting that adds meaning. It informs our understanding of the story and themes.
So plot context explains how and why the story happened, why the characters did what they did.
In Shakespeare's "Macbeth," the plot context would be a Scottish thane in medieval times being lured by the suggestions of witches to commit treasonous acts.
If it were set in modern times, a Scottish landowner might not be lured by "witches." If he were, that would have very different implications for him and the story!
