Drinking water

My doctor tells me that I need to drink half of my body's weight of water a day  (on a normal day) and I weight 115 lbs. I need to drink about every 30 min no more than 2 oz. at a time  If I'm up approximately 17 hrs a day. How many times a day do I need to drink and how much water do I drink every 30 min.

So I need to drink 57.5 oz per day. How many oz. do I drink in a 17 hour day? Please show how you solved the problem.

Thank You!

Matt H.

Half your body's weight would be 57 and half pounds of water, which would be about 6.9 gallons, x 128 oz per gallon = 883 oz, divided by 34 30-minute periods equals 25.9 ounces every 30 minutes.

Better stay near the bathroom.

One cup is 8 ounces
57.5 oz = 7.1875 cups, less than one quart.
