Kk, if I say there is a 2:5 ratio of red pencils to blue pencils and there are 15 blue pencils, then there must be 6 red, because 15 is 3 x 5, so we must do 3 x 2.
We have a ratio of 2:3:4. Since the shortest side is 4, it must go in the place of the smallest number, 2 in this case.
Since 4 is double 2, we must double the other numbers.
The other two sides are 6 and 8.
Hope this helps!

Let a, b, and c be the 3 sides of the triangle from smallest (a) to largest (c). We are given that a = 4 cm. The ratio of the middle side (b) to the shortest side (a) is 3:2. Hence we have the proportion:
3/2 = b/a
3/2 = b/(4 cm)
(3/2)*(4 cm) = b
6 cm = b
The ratio of the longest side (c) to the middle side (b) is 4:3. We know that b = 6 cm.
4/3 = c/b
4/3 = c/(6 cm)
(4/3)*(6 cm) = c
8 cm = c
