Physics waves questions:

An incident pulse reaches the boundary with a different medium. At the boundary, there is some reflection and transmission. The transmitted pulse is observed to be traveling slower than the original incident pulse.

One would expect the transmitted pulse to: a) invert b) not invert
One would expect the reflected pulse to: a) invert b) not invert

Along with the answer, why is it the answer??

Would this change if the transmitted pulse was observed to be traveling faster?

In case when transmitted pulse travels faster, it's still not inverted. The reflected pulse isn't inverted as well.
