Recall that density = mass/volume

 

You are given the density of 0.855 g/cm³

The volume is 500 mL

 

So solve this we also need to know that a mL is equivalent to a cm³.

We also need to know there are 1000 g / Kg

 

(0.855 g/cm³)(1cm³/1mL) = 0.855 g/mL

 

0.855 g/mL * 500 mL = 427.5 g

 

But we need to convert this to Kg.

 

(427.5 g)(1 Kg/1000 g) = 0.4275 Kg  = Mass
