A function is even if f(-x) = f(x). A function is odd if f(-x) = -f(x).
f(-x) = (-x)/[(-x)2-2] = -x/ (x2 - 2) = -f(x)
So, the function is odd.

A function is "even" when f(x) = f(-x), for all x
A function is "odd" when -f(x) = f(-x), for all x
A function is neither when neither of the above hold.
