or one interpretation might be there were scalpers

who bought up more tickets and then sold them at a higher price the day of the event

or someone embezzled a lot of money

but odds are very good that the problem is defective as written and

some of the numbers are off, such as the 925.00 may have really been 925,000

then

925,000-799,000= 126,000

x=126,000/15 = 8,400 tickets sold the day of the event

and 20000-8,400 = 191,600 tickets sold in advance
