How do I make a frequency distribution based on respondent's location/provinces?

I'm trying to make a frequency distribution for a set a data from stats canada on location of respondents, so for the left hand column do I write down the name of the provinces? or just the code number? Also, the data given to me has a frequency chart already Im pretty sure, so does my prof just want me to do exactly whats there or am I missing something?

If your data consists of a list of provinces where each entry means an incident for a new respondent then my guess would be you should make two columns. One lists the provinces (or other locations) and second how many times (the frequency) that province appears in the list.
