i cant figure out how tall a stack of 16 nickels is

16 nickels are 31.2 mm thick

 

1 mm = 0.0393701 in

31.2 mm = 1.22834712 in

The thickness of a nickel is 1/16 inch. So piling up 16 nickels in a column results in a total thickness of 1 inch.
