Your calculations are correct, although not quite totally complete (the numeric value is the same, however).
Since you are being asked for moles, and your given is 1.0 L of solution, you need to start with the 1.0 L.
(1.0 L solution) × (0.02 mol CuSO4/1 L solution) × (2 mol ions/1 mol CuSO4) = 0.04 mol ions
The same holds true for your second answer.
If I were grading these as a test question, I'd ding you for a half point for not having the initial amount explicitly written (but I'm sometimes generous in partial credit).
