What is the domain of the tangent function?

Hi Sam, the tangent function can be represented as: sin x / cos x.

 

The domain of this function, sin x / cost x,  is all real numbers except where cos x = 0.

 

The cos x function equals zero when x is: pi / 2 + pi * n, where n is an integer.
