Michael is shopping foe clothes. He needs to buy an equal no. of shirts and ties. He also needs to buy 4 times as many shirts as pants. shirts cost $35, ties cost $25 and pants cost $40, and micheal spends $560. Using the sysytem given, determine how many shirts, ties and pants he purchased.

Answer 1

35(4p)+25(4p)+40P=560

     140p+100p+40p=560

               240p+40p=560

                       280p=560

                             p=2

therefore he needs to buy eight shirts, eight ties and two pairs of pants
