How to evaluate the discriminant: We evaluate the discriminant by finding b2-4ac.
Significance to quadratic equations: We can use the discriminant to find the number of solutions of a quadratic equation.
If the discriminant is a positive number, the equation has two real solutions.
If the discriminant is zero, the equation has one real solution.
If the discriminant is a negative number, the equation has no real solutions.
