Find f(-3) when f(x)=2x²+3x+5

Until you are comfortable evaluating functions for a give value of x, my suggestion is to write it out like this:

 

f(-3) = 2(-3)²+3(-3)+5

        = 2(9) - 9 + 5

        = 23 - 9

        = 14
