how to solve -1+4x=31

I have to solve two step inequalities and am unsure how to do it when there is a ≤ sign.  I have to solve many equations like the one above and I'm not sure where to start

-1+4x=31

We need to isolate x.

Let's add 1 to both sides...

1-1+4x=31+1

4x=32

Let's divide both sides by 4...

(4x)/4=32/4

x=8
