Hi Aishell, what you typed is not equation, it's inequality.

Solving inequality is very like solving equation. The only difference: if divide or multiply both sides of inequality by negative number, we have to change sign of inequality to opposite.
~~~~~~~~~~
   8k  –  6  >  18
         + 6     + 6
   8k  >  24
 ÷ 8    ÷ 8
    k > 3  ,  or all numbers out of interval (3, + ∞)
<—————o—————>
                 3           + ∞
All you are solving for is K
8k-6 > 18
8k - 6 + 6 > 18 + 6                    Add 6 to both sides in order to isolate the variable
8k > 24
8K/8 > 24/8                               Divide both sides to get K alone
K > 3                                         Answer
