This is a perfect chance to use the factor-label method. You have a certain number of people, and that figure needs to be converted to a number of eggs due to ounces of ice cream per person, ounces per gallon, and eggs per gallon.
(apologies for the formatting, Wyzant doesn't let me put things in equation format)
750 persons * 4 ounces ice cream * 1 gallon ice cream * 6 eggs
1 person 128 ounces ice cream 1 gallon ice cream
You'll end up with (750 * 4 * 1 * 6) / (1 * 128 * 1)
The labels "person(s)," "ounce(s) ice cream," and "gallon(s) ice cream" will all cancel out, leaving you with "egg(s)."
Naturally, you can't buy 0.625 of an egg, so round it up to 141 eggs.
