Cutting a four inch cube into one inch cubes

You are cutting a four inch cube of chocolate wrapped in foil into one inch cubes. How many cubes are there? How many strokes of the knife will there be? How many cubes will have foil on three sides? Two sides? One side? No sides?

Recheck the cube quantities for foil on 2, 1 and no sides.  Interior cube
with no foil measures 2x2x2=8 cubes no foil.  9 cuts are required.

64 cubes
8 with foil on 3 sides
16 with foil on 2 sides
24 with foil on 1 side
16 with foil on no sides

I still see 6 cuts

3 cuts in each of the 3 axes (3x3=9cuts). Search, see identical question solution answered Oct14/David W, Martinsburg, WV, (and others).
