3 times the measure of an angle exceeds twice the measure of the same angle by 15. What is the measure of this angle?

When an angle exceeds another angle, then the difference between the two is how much one exceed the other by.  The number that exceeds is the larger number.

 

Let x = the angle

 

 

Create an equation using the above logic.

 

3x - 2x = 15

 

 

Solve for x.

 

x = 15

 

 

The angle is 15 degrees.
