Every group of (5) 2 year olds need at least 1 teacher. There are (19) 2 year olds in a class. How many teachers must be ther?

The best way to solve this problem is to draw a picture. Make your students (19) Xs. Next put a circle around a group of 5. Keep doing this till all the Xs are in a group. Then count the groups. On this problem don't worry about having equal groups, the question is asking how many teachers are needed. Here you have to have 4 teachers onefor each group of 5 and 1 for the group of 4.
