Ben needs to run 3 miles each day to prepare for a race. one lap around the school track is 400 yards. If Ben runs 10 laps a day will he run at least 3 miles? Explain

Hi Mario, the short answer is no ben will not run three miles a day. if one lap is 400 yards, then four laps is 1760 yards or one mile.

 

When Ben runs 10 laps of the track, he has traveled a total of 4000 yards. To run three miles, he needs to run 5280 yards. Ben is 1280 yards short of three miles.
