Word problem. Need equation and solution

A tennis court is 78 feet in length and for singles play is 27 feet in width.  How many meters wide is the tennis court?  Use the conversion factor of 1 yard = 0.9144 meters

first you need to know how many feet are in a yard... 3 feet = 1 yard. Now you can divide the width of the court (27 feet) by 3 to get how many yards the court is wide. 27/3 =9 so then you would multiple 9 yards by the conversion factor .9144  and get 8.2296 meters for the width of the tennis court
