Balancing oxidation-reduction reaction by writing half-reactions? Can you check my answer please!?

Na + Al+3 => Al + Na + 

 

 

ox: (Na => Na+ + e-) *3

red: Al+3 + 3e- => Al

 

Al+3 + Na =. Al + 3Na+

 

please let me know if this is right!

For a balanced reaction, you should state  "Al+3  +  3Na  =>  Al  + 3Na+"

 

Other than that, your equation is correct.

By the way, thank you for showing the oxidation and reduction half-reactions. It showed me that you do understand oxidation/reduction reactions, and that the omission of the "3" was probably just an oversight.
