conversion problem - feet and inches

Faye is 5 feet 5 inches tall.  Faye is 10 inches shorter than her brother.  How tall is Faye's older brother?

5 ft 5 inches is not 5.5 feet    that would be 5 ft 6 in
 
5 ft 5 in = 65 inches
65 in + 10 in = 75 in
75 in/12 in = 6 3/12 or 6 ft 3 in

6 ft 3 in  = 6 3/12 ft or 6.25 ft
