Hi Latika,
Did you know that what the general rules of solubility are for nitrates? they are soluble in water, very much so!
The same is true for sodium salts. All sodium salts are soluble in water.
But when a solution of sodium sulfide and cadmium nitrate is mixed, you get a solid phase too, a yellow colored precipitate. This is Cadmium sulfide. Sodium nitrate of course, following the solubility rule is soluble.
The net ionic equation is:
Cd2+ + S2- → CdS(↓)
